Kate Baranski, a freshman at Vanguard University in California, earned eighth place in the women's 6-kilometer race in 22:31.9 at the Golden State Athletic Conference Championships at Central Park in Santa Clarita, Calif. Baranski helped the Lions place second overall as team with 77 points.
