Evan Hernandez, a junior at Vanguard University in California, took third in the men's 8-kilometer race in 24:51.7 at the Golden State Athletic Conference Championships at Central Park in Santa Clarita, Calif. Hernandez helped the Lions secure second place as a team with 67 points.
