BREA, Calif. - The Vanguard Lions officially kicked off the 2017 season at the Mark Covert Classic held by Cal State Fullerton. The Vanguard women placed 12th among 16 scoring teams at the Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea. This was the first outing for both teams who are preseason ranked third on the men's side and fourth on the women's side for the GSAC crown. Vanguard was chosen to host the upcoming GSAC Championship in November.
