[Cross Country] Lions Top All GSAC Competitors at Mustang Challenge

Comments

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The Vanguard Cross-Country teams were back at it early Saturday morning after taking last week off from racing. The Master's University hosted their Mustang Challenge at Central Park and the Lion women finished sixth and the men ended in 12th place. Vanguard was highlighted by Marissa Thompson (SO/Riverside, CA) with the top time for the Pride and Josh Anderson (FR/Anaheim Hills, CA) who took home the top spot for the men.

"This race was very exciting because we were able to preview the GSAC Championships as all but one team from our conference were in our race," remarked Thompson. "Going into the race, I just tried to focus on points where I could be strategic. Running with savannah helped both of us stay on pace and be more aggressive passing other runners; we really work well together!"
