Irvine, Calif - Biola Invitational at Irvine Regional Park - The rain that came heavy at times this past week in Southern California slowed to a light drizzle in the early morning today at Irvine Park. However, the air cleared around race time for the women's 5k at the Biola Invitational which featured seven GSAC teams and four of the top six ranked teams in the NAIA, including meet host No. 1-ranked Biola University. Despite a slightly muddy course, the top times remained fast as No. 2-ranked CSU San Marcos placed its top five runners in the first 13 finishers to upset top-ranked Biola and win the women's 5K. Biola claimed second while the rest of the ranked teams placed in order of their rankings. The Vanguard Lions placed sixth in the powerful field, just ten points behind Westmont College who received votes towards this week's top 25. Read the full article at: www.vanguardlions.com
